The girl that plays the piano

A few days ago, my friend M invited me at her piano lesson. This was the second time when I shared this amazing experience with her.  When she first invited me, I said “Why not? “, even tough the symphonic music is not actually my kind. Her teacher is an old, very friendly and funny lady. It’s impossible not to smile when seeing her. She owns a very beautiful, black piano. It has so many details, that I could spend the whole day admiring all the little drawings. I was mesmerized!
And the lesson had begun. The teacher’s eyes, full of love for art, started to follow the delicate fingers of the girl who played the piano. The sound filled gently the room to create a magical atmosphere. And she played all the songs that marked her childhood, but also the songs that brought in her heart love for this instrument.  I remember that she told me once that she’s trying to learn “Moonlight” by Beethoven. It’s a pretty difficult song, but after a lot of hard work she succeeded. I was so amazed when she started to play it. When she finished, her teacher and I applauded her and I could see tears in her eyes. She was so glad and I was so proud. Actually, this is the proudest I’ve ever been of her! This was a very important moment and I’m very glad that I was there. I hope that I showed her I will always be there when she needs me.
At the end of the lesson her mother arrived so M insisted to play it for her to. You could tell by the look in her eyes that she was very proud of her daughter.
I think that M’s passion for symphonic music and piano, mine for writing and books and J’s for photography and drawing brought us together. Art brought me two of the most amazing people I know, but also my two best friends. What more reason one need to love art?

Take a moment to look closer

Take a moment , let youre favourite song to fill in the background , sit back , close youre eyes and take a deep breath … think about the things that you always wanted to do , but you never had the chance … or maybe the couraje , think about the things or the places whitch you are passing by everyday but you don’t give them any attention even though they can be special … I realised  this thing happened to me a couple of days ago … while I was walking with one of my good friends , J , she told me that she discovered a new ” restaurant” that left her speechless (and that thing it’s not in everyday routine ) and I asked her to take me there immediately . When we entered I was absolutely astonished , it was that kind of  place where you could have a quiet conversation , with calm music that creates atmosphere . The thing that I liked the most was that everywhere you looked you could see a lot of old Romanian artefacts and vintage collection objects … shortly it is the PERFECT place and I didn’t knew about it even though I live in this town for 14 years ! I always passed by that place but I never bothered to pay it any attention . When I arrived home I started to think about things and places that I always pass by without giving them a single look … and by doing that I discovered a new coffee-house that it is so great ( it has a wall full of stikers with messages from the customers – they are in every possible language ) … this is another cool place that I could have descover long time ago but I haven’t because I never gave any importance to it .
Those discoveries taught me that I have to give a second look to the places where  I will go , because I will never know what I will find ;) .

My toughts about music

For many of you music doesn’t mean more than just some noise . But for others,  like me, it means so many things: the great sound that is wishing you good luck at your tests and it gives you confidence or the powerful sound that totally understands what you’re feeling and it makes you dreaming at a better … life . Also through music many people , even the ones who think the least of themselves , are expressing who they are. I think that for many people music is one of the great things in life because it helps them to believe when there’s no hope.
The best example I can give you is also my favourite band : 30 seconds to mars . Why them ? Because their music is about having the courage to dream. This is what Jared Leto (the 30stm leader) said once in an interview where he was asked about their new song : “Capricorn is about a desire for renewal. But I’d rather let people take their own understanding and meaning from the song. I think that is one of the exciting things about music, the interpretation, from individual to individual and how it can change so much.” Also , his brother , Shannon Leto said once : “You gotta have faith . Even at the bottom of blackest hole , there will always be light shining through . It just takes faith to see” . So I think it is obvious that they really believe in what they are doing . And the thing  I love the most is that they aren’t chasing fame or other things . From where I know that ? From this : “ 30stm is not only music , it’s not only art , it’s a community . It’s a sense of having a place to belong . And not everybody will understand it , and that’s ok , it’s just for the people that do.“ They succeeded at bringing hope in their fans heart and that’s why I believe that music can make you a better person. I know it worked for me...
I wish people will continue to express themselves through music and this type of art will never die.
